Mom with teens helps other teens cope

When Lisa Sacco isn't parenting her own two teens, ages 14 and 19, she's often helping other teens cope as part of her job as a doctoral level licensed psychologist at Orenstein Solutions in Cary, which offers counseling, programs and workshops for kids, adults and families.

Sacco's specialities include counseling for teens and college students as well as infertility, postpartum depression and family therapy. And for the next five weeks, every Wednesday, she'll be sharing some tips on how to survive those teen years.

Topics will include just how to understand your teen, discipline in the teen years, signs your teen might be in trouble and healthy relationships. I learned a lot just talking to her and I hope you'll find it helpful too.

So check back here on Wednesday for more. And learn more about Sacco in this quick video.

Sacco will be leading a free workshop titled Across the Divide: Understanding your Teen from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. March 24. Pre-registration is required. Click here for details.
