From about 30 yards out, Millbrook sophomore Jordan Davis unleashed a free kick that bended over the Heritage defense, and the outstretched arm of its keeper to break a 1-1 in the Wildcats' conference opener.

But the jaw-dropping finishes were not done yet.

Davis buried the Huskies with a dagger from even further out in the 75th to secure a 3-1 win, Millbrook's fifth straight.

Heritage struck first in a battle of unbeaten teams.

Minutes into the contest, Millbrook's Lauren Hollis left the goal and could not connect on a clearing attempt. The ball rolled to the foot of Selah Jackson who had the entire frame in front of her for the 1-0 lead.

Jackson now has a team best seven goals this season, that includes four in a win over West Forsyth nine days ago at The Brittany Soccer Showcase.

The Wildcats worked their way even before the halftime break.

Gabrielle Sadosky stole the ball off of a Husky defender, and created a 2-on-1 opportunity. She connected with Katelyn Burnette for the equalizer in the 25th minute. The goal was Burnette's team-leading fifth of the season.

14 minutes into the second half, Davis gave the Wildcats the lead for good. Her free kick pushed the Millbrook advantage to 2-1.

With five minutes left, Abby Champlin forced a turnover in the midfield and found Annaka Boyd who played a ball back to Davis for the long distance strike.

The 3-1 victory avenges several narrow losses to Heritage from a year ago. Millbrook is now 5-0-1 this season with signature non-conference wins over Cardinal Gibbons and Hough already under its belt.

Davis' brace gives her four goals on the season and three in her last two games.

The Wildcats return home on Wednesday to continue conference play against Rolesville. On Thursday, they have another big non-conference test on the road at Hunt.

Heritage is 4-1-2 overall and hosts Knightdale on Wednesday before hitting the road to face Holly Springs on Thursday evening.
