Man sought in Mount Olive double homicide

Wayne County deputies were searching Monday for a man wanted in a Sunday night shooting that left two people dead.

Deputies responding to a report of shots fired at 1172-B Old Mount Olive Highway at about 9:45 p.m. found Jamaal Anthony Kornegay and Nakiea Felicia Garner dead at the home, authorities said.

A third victim, Tre Stokes, had a gunshot wound to his thigh, and a fourth victim, Leonard Darden, had fled the scene during the shooting, authorities said. Deputies found him a few blocks away with a gunshot wound to his arm.

Stokes and Darden were taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment.
