Lynda Loveland: We do it for them

When was the last time you worried about your child's health? Maybe they had a high fever for a few days. Maybe they were injured and had to be rushed to the hospital. Or maybe it was something more serious like cancer.

When was the last time you worried about your child's health? Maybe they had a high fever for a few days. Maybe they were injured and had to be rushed to the hospital. Or maybe it was something more serious like cancer.

Whatever it was, you can't help but feel helpless. As a parent, you want to do whatever it takes, go to whatever lengths, to take away the pain and make them better.

You may feel helpless, but it's not hopeless. Not with Duke Children's Hospital nearby. The doctors and staff NEVER give up. They give you hope where there was none.

I know because I've seen it on the faces of parents who'd been told by others to plan for the worst. Miracles happen at Duke. That's why we do it, for the former, current and future kids at Duke. Mix 101.5's Radiothon for Duke Children's Hospital continues tomorrow, Wednesday. Together we can give these kids hope. Please take a minute and give from your heart. You can donate online at wralfm.com.

Thank you.
