Myron Britt returns to his former Cary home on July 22, 2009, as jurors in his murder trial visit the area to check out his alibi. He is charged with killing his wife in August 2003 at her sister's Robeson County home.

The jury in the retrial of a Cary man accused of killing his wife six years ago on Thursday took a trip to the defendant's former home.

Myron Britt is charged with first-degree murder in the August 2003 shooting death of his wife, Nancy Britt, a Wake County teacher, at her sister's Robeson County home.

A June 2006 trial ended in a mistrial when the jury deadlocked 11-1 in favor of conviction.

During the 2006 trial, a neighbor testified that Myron Britt never left his home the night his wife was killed.

Defense lawyers Jim Parrish and Sue Berry asked that the jury be allowed to travel from Lumberton to Cary to visit the two homes, saying photos didn't accurately depict the neighbor's view.

Jurors will tour both homes, and Superior Court Judge Gregory Weeks asked that Britt's son and daughter be present to point out any changes made to the home since 2003.

If convicted, Britt could face the death penalty.
