Inconceivable: Frozen embryo transfer prep

The prep for a Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) isn't as intense as the prep for egg retrieval, but it is still a bit taxing on your body.

The prep for a Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) isn't as intense as the prep for egg retrieval, but it is still a bit taxing on your body.

For me, taking estrogen each morning and night has made me emotional! And the progesterone shots are literally a pain in the butt! But if all of these things help us conceive a baby then I'll suffer the pain.

We have a transfer scheduled this week and this is what that day is going to look like:

  • Wake up and start hydrating drink a lot of water
  • Arrive at the doctor's office an hour early to get a pre-transfer acupuncture treatment (transfer acupuncture was my Mother's Day gift from my husband)
  • Drink a ton of water before acupuncture and hope that the pins don't make me leak out the water I just drank
  • Drink more water after the treatment so I'm literally swimming into the transfer room
  • Embryo transfer and lots of prayers! Then hopefully a bathroom visit.
  • Post-transfer acupuncture for an hour

I plan to go home and watch funny TV shows and movies because I read a study that said a group of women who were visited by a clown post-transfer were more successful than the group of women studied who were not. Frankly, I would be freaked out if a clown showed up after my transfer!

So wish us luck!

Starting this month I'm going to be blogging a bit less. I'm taking a break from the weekly grind and giving myself some time to meditate and hopefully be successful this IVF round.
