HighSchoolOT has released its inaugural all-state volleyball team.

The all-state team is broken up into three teams — first, second, and third — with 15 players apiece. Thirty players were named honorable mention all-state.

Later this year, fans can nominate a player for HSOT Honors Volleyball Player of the Year.

Next to each selection is their school, year, position, and end-of-the-year stats (with notes for those whose stats were incomplete). Underneath each team is more information about the selections.

At least 30 selections were required to come from the East half of the state and at least 30 were required from the West. In total, 42 players from the West and 33 from the East were honored.

Players were selected based on a number of criteria, including coach nominations and feedback and conversations with other media members from around the state.

The media members who contributed to this year's all-state teams were: Mike London of the Salisbury Post; Malcolm Shields of the Daily Advance (Elizabeth City), Josh McKinney of the Hickory Daily Record, Paul Durham of the Wilson Times, Michael Lindsay of the High Point Enterprise, Kai Jones of WJG Sports, Tim Hower of CoastalPreps, Jonathan Bym of The Pilot (Southern Pines), Chris Miller of the Jacksonville Daily News, Matt Page of Tar River Preps, Mike Duprez of the Lexington Dispatch, Paul Schenkel of the News-Herald (Morganton), Chris Stiles of The Robesonian, Austin Bailey of The Daily Courier (Forest City), and David Kehrli of The Times-News (Burlington).
