The Hillside Hornets are the undisputed favorite of the PAC-6 Conference this year and head coach Antonio King has a new batch of Division-1 caliber players to carry his team this year.

6-foot-5 Emmanuel McGirt holds down the offensive line and has committed to play at UNC next year. All-Conference quarterback Nas Forte-Ferguson is back for his senior season, as are his receivers Raymond Green and Miles Kelly.

The Hornets face a tough non-conference schedule, playing New Bern, Southern Durham and Dudley in their first three games.

Riverside and new head coach Chris Howell hope to change the look and feel of the Pirates this season. Howell was the defensive coordinator at Riverside a year ago and hopes to bring more physicality to the team. Howell says Riverside teams always work hard, but now it’s time for results.

Person, Jordan, Northern Durham and East Chapel Hill all finished with less than three wins last season. The Jordan Falcons return their starting quarterback, as do the Northern Durham Knights.

The conference’s bottom teams will need to show substantial improvement if they want to dethrone Hillside as the king of the PAC-6.
