Girls Soccer Rankings: Just one new teams joins statewide top 25; area code rankings stay steady

The HighSchoolOT statewide 25 girls soccer rankings welcomed two new schools last week and only one new school this week.

Cox Mill went from unranked — even in its own area code top 15 — to No. 16 after it picked up a big win over Marvin Ridge to remain undefeated. The only team falling out from a week ago was Middle Creek.

Rankings reminders:

• Rankings are updated weekly and released on every Monday
• All high schools in the state of North Carolina, excluding athletic training academies, are eligible for the statewide top 25
• There is a separate top 15 for the state's six area codes that is also updated weekly
• Rankings are paused during the N.C. High School Athletic Association playoffs
• Final rankings are released the week after the state championships
