Flight experiencing mechanical issues lands safely at RDU
A plane landed safely at Raleigh-Durham International Airport on Thursday morning after experiencing mechanical issues.
A spokesperson from RDU said Delta flight 850, which was coming from Las Vegas, landed in Raleigh without incident before 7 a.m.
WRAL meteorologist Kat Campbell was at RDU Thursday morning and reported the TSA line wrapped around the building. She posted a photo of a long check-in line at the American Airlines desk.
According to airport officials, the line was the result of increased volume at the airport Thursday morning, and most passengers reported a standard wait time between 20 and 25 minutes.
Passengers will see an increase in wait times during summer travel, officials said.
Nine flights were canceled at RDU on Thursday, and a handful were delayed. Travelers should check the status of their flight before arriving at the airport.
