Sex charges mount against Fayetteville man

A Fayetteville man has been indicted on federal sex trafficking and child pornography charges, police said Friday.

Fayetteville police began investigating Christopher Jason Williams, 33, of Windy Hill Circle, in January when a 14-year-old girl told police that a man held her against her will for several weeks at a Fayetteville home and had sex with her. Police later found a 15-year-old girl hiding inside the man's home.

Police said in January that the older girl was a runaway who had been staying with the man since May 2012 and had repeatedly had sex with him.

The 14-year-old is one of two girls referenced in the indictment, which includes charges that Williams had pornographic photographs and video of minors dating to last summer.

Williams was charged with 53 counts each of statutory rape, statutory sex offense and indecent liberties with a child, and federal authorities then became involved in the case.

Anyone with information about possible other victims in the case is asked to call Detective J. Rosenberg with the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-433-1851.
