Police on Wednesday charged a Fayetteville man with dozens of sex crimes involving a teen girl and said more charges could be filed.

Christopher Jason Williams, 33, of Windy Hill Circle, was charged with 53 counts each of statutory rape, statutory sex offense and indecent liberties with a child. He was being held in the Cumberland County jail under a $1.325 million bond.

A 14-year-old girl and her guardian told police last weekend that a man held her against her will for several weeks at a Fayetteville home and had sex with her. Police said they went to the home to talk to the man, and during a search, found a 15-year-old girl hiding inside.

Police said they determined that the older girl had been staying with the man since May 2012 and had repeatedly had sex with him.

There was no word on how either girl met the man, but police said the 15-year-old is a runaway.

The charges against Williams are in connection with the allegations involving the 15-year-old, and police said they continue to investigate the allegations involving the 14-year-old.

Police spokesman Gavin MacRoberts said investigators are also looking into the possibility that there are more victims.

Williams' neighbor Austin Hunsinger said crime is common in the Summerhill Townhouses community.

"I got my car window broken out a few months ago," he said. "I've seen police here, time and time again. I've seen (overdoses), drugs everywhere."

Still, he said, the allegations against Williams are unbelievable.

"I know I have a daughter, and that makes me fearful for when she gets older and the kind of people I'm going to have my daughter look out for."
