Durham landmark restaurant closes

Honey's Restaurant on Guess Road will serve its final meals Sunday. After 53 years at the same location, the restaurant lost its lease.

Owner Buck Dickerson said he can see how much the restaurant has become a part of the community.

"The outpouring of emotion has been unbelievable," Dickerson said. "We've had customers crying. It's been a tremendous experience."

Dickerson doesn't expect to be out of business for too long. He's already exploring options for a new restaurant in that same area.
