The Texas man accused of killing a Pennsylvania high school football player in Durham in June faces $1 million bond on charges of murder and assault with a deadly weapon.

A Durham judge set the bond for Gabriel James Gamez, 22, Friday.

Police say Gamez, of San Antonio, was visiting Durham for a family funeral when he got in an altercation with two teens visiting on a recruiting trip. Gamez is accused of shooting Darrell Turner, 18, and teammate Thomas Woodson, 15, in the parking lot of an AT&T store at 5348 McFarland Drive.

Turner was pronounced dead at Duke University Hospital. Woodson was shot in the leg.
