Duke University has settled a lawsuit that accused some of the nation's top universities of inflating tuition for students who received financial aid.
Two years ago, 17 schools were sued for inflating tuition for students who received financial aid. Duke and several other schools reached a multi-million-dollar settlement for working together to limit financial aid to students.
In the last 24 hours, Duke and four other schools filed paperwork to settle the case.
Duke and Columbia will each pay out about $24 million. Brown, Emory and Yale will each pay $18 million to $19 million.
None of the schools admitted wrongdoing in the case.
