Deputies investigate fatal shooting in Wake Forest

Wake County sheriff's deputies were investigating a fatal shooting Sunday in Wake Forest.

At about 2:15 p.m., deputies arrived at 3 Kelly Pine Court. They found Jaquelyn Larue Gore, 48, dead from a gunshot wound, deputies said.

Deputies took Leslie Edward Smith, 62, into custody. He was charged with murder Sunday evening, deputies said. His first court appearance was scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday.

Gore and Smith lived at the mobile home together. The nature of their relationship was not released.

The investigation was ongoing.
