Crash causes heavy delays on I-85 in Durham during morning commute

A crash caused heavy delays of up to an hour Wednesday morning on Interstate 85 South in Durham.

The crash happened near Exit 179 at Club Boulevard. At one point, both lanes were closed as crews work to clear the crash.

However, as of 7:30 a.m., both lanes had reopened and delays were down to 30 minutes.

Drivers can save around 20 minutes by taking Redwood Road to Geer Street, then heading down to Club Boulevard to rejoin I-85.
