Charlotte man charged in Fayetteville shooting death

Police arrested a Charlotte man Tuesday in the shooting death of a Fayetteville man two weeks ago.

Daquane Altonique Israel, 21, is charged with first-degree murder and discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling.

Fayetteville officers responding to calls about a shooting near the intersection of Italy Street and Cheer Lane on Nov. 29 found Maurice Daquan Patterson dead from a gunshot wound.

Investigators haven't released any information about a possible motive in the shooting or what evidence links Israel to the crime.

Police said they expect to make additional arrests in the case, which remains under investigation.
