Cary's baseball team used a nine-run second inning to pull away from Apex Friendship en route to an 11-0 win, which was ended early by the five-inning run-rule.

After a scoreless first inning, Gavin Turner led off the second inning for the Imps with a triple, then a single by Collins Black brought Turner home for the first run of the game.

Cary loaded the bases with no outs, and Avery Lin scored as Apex Friendship walked Skylan Joyner. That gave Cary a 2-0 lead.

Jackon Folsom recorded a two RBI double, allowing William Vetter and Benjamin Morris to score, which led the Imps to the top of the batting order without a single out.

Up 4-0, Marcus Graham singled, and Joyner and Folsom crossed the plate to push the Cary lead to 6-0. Graham was then brought home on a double by Turner to give the Imps a 7-0 lead.

Black singled later in the inning to bring Owen Green home for the eighth run of the inning. Then Turner recorded his second run of the day when Morris hit a double. Cary led 9-0 after the second inning.

The Imps didn't score again until the top of the fifth inning. With two outs, Cary loaded the bases and Andrew Mohler hit a single, allowing Folsom and Morris to score, giving Cary its 11-0 lead.

Apex Friendship was not able to score in the bottom of the fifth inning, so the game ended early with the Imps up by 11 runs.

Cary recorded 12 hits on the day, including three doubles and a single. Morris, Turner, and Folsom all had two runs scored, while Folsom, Graham, and Mohler each recorded two RBI.
