The Mid-State 2-A conference is home to the Carrboro Jaguars, who went 4-7 last year but have undergone a change in their program with the departure of head coach Jason Tudryn.

Filling his role will be Melvin Griffin, who was already a part of Tudryn’s staff. Another source of continuity for the Jags will be senior running back Trai Sharp. Sharp went down with a knee injury midway through last year, sending the team into a downward spiral in the conference.

A healthy Sharp should help the Jaguars bounce back. He has offers from several schools including James Madison and Appalachian State.

Reidsville is the defending champion of the conference and has six returning starters on each side of the ball that could help the Rams repeat.

The Graham Red Devils have several third-year starters ready to elevate their team up the conference, while Cummings undergoes a coaching change with the departure of Steve Johnson, who’s now in charge of Enloe.

Jordan-Matthews has players back from a 5-7 finish while Barlett Yancey tries to recover from a 2-9 season.
