Realtors host safety seminar

Days after a real estate agent was robbed at gunpoint, the Raleigh Regional Association of Realtors will hold its annual safety seminar.

The RRAR workshop updates Realtors and real estate agents on crime trends and risks, and it serves as a reminder to them to be aware of their surroundings in vacant properties and open houses. 

A Fayetteville agent lost his wallet, keys and credit cards to a robber last week during an open house in the new Knolls on Cliffdale subdivision in west Fayetteville – a neighborhood off Cliffdale Road where most of the houses are vacant or under construction.

Commander AJ Gwyn of the Southern Crime Prevention Task Force will lead the seminar Sept. 24 at 9 a.m. at 111 Realtors Way in Cary. Admission is free, but registration is required.
