Brookstone Apartments in Fayetteville catch fire

Residents were rushed from Brookstone Apartments in Fayetteville Friday after fire broke out in the community off Cliffdale Road.

The fire started at 4:45 p.m. at the apartments located at 6525 Brookstone Lane. 

Officials said when they arrived smoke and flames were visible in the air over the three-story apartment complex. 

The fire affected six apartments and the Red Cross was called in to provide emergency assistance to those who are displaced. 

It wasn't clear what started the fire, but no injuries were reported.
