Baseball Rankings: West Henderson takes over the top spot in statewide top 25

A loss by T.C. Roberson opened the door to move West Henderson into the No. 1 spot in this week's HighSchoolOT statewide baseball rankings.

The Rams didn't drop too far for losing to a previously-unranked team in Cox Mill. The Chargers moved into the rankings at No. 11, with Roberson right behind.

Reagan, Hoggard, and Pinecrest leapt into the top 10 during a week that features seven new teams.

Cox Mill, Wesleyan Christian, Wayne Country Day, Charlotte Christian, North Stanly, Greene Central and Grace Christian of Sanford are in; Orange, Corinth Holders, Wake Forest, New Hanover, Cape Fear, Weddington and Hough fell out.

Rankings reminders:

• Rankings are updated weekly and released on Monday
• All high schools in the state of North Carolina, excluding athletic training academies, are eligible for the statewide top 25
• There is a separate top 15 for the state's six area codes that is also updated weekly
• Rankings are paused during the N.C. High School Athletic Association playoffs
• Final rankings are released the week after the state championships
