Authorities investigating suspicious death in Southern Pines

Authorities are investigating after a man was found dead Sunday evening in Southern Pines.

Authorities said officers responded to a home at 150 Cox Street at about 5:10 p.m. and found Glenn Davis, 65, inside the home with a gunshot wound.

Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are calling the death suspicious.

Officers blocked off the area surrounding the home Sunday evening as crime scene investigators and detectives investigated.

Authorities said the Davis' body will be sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Raleigh for an autopsy.
