Apex police filed indecent exposure charges Friday against a Raleigh man already in jail on charges that he groped women while they shopped.

Apex police charged Kenneth Lawrence Dorn, 38, of 10508 Six Forks Road, with two counts each of felony habitual misdemeanor assault, misdemeanor sexual battery and indecent exposure.

Apex police said Dorn committed the incidents at Apex Community Park on April 21 and at a Target store on July 5.

Raleigh police arrested Dorn Monday on accusations that he touched a woman on July 6 at Harris Teeter, 9600 Falls of Neuse Road, and on July 9 at Wal-Mart, 10500 Glenwood Ave. He was charged with sexual battery and habitual misdemeanor assault in those cases.

Apex police said that they arrested in 2007 Dorn previously for a similar incident at the same Target.

According to state Department of Correction records, Dorn has been convicted fives times on indecent exposure and twice on felony habitual misdemeanor assault charges in Wake County since 1995. He also has three convictions for assault on a female, as well as stalking and trespassing.

DOC records show that Dorn served one six-month sentence in 2001 and was given probation for the remainder of the convictions. He is not listed in the N.C. Sex Offenders Registry.

The Raleigh Police Special Victim’s Unit is investigating whether Dorn committed additional similar crimes. Anyone who believes they may have been victimized by him is asked to call 919-996-3555.
