A sinkhole in Wake Forest shut down part of a road Friday morning.
A portion of Purnell Road was closed from Fairlake Drive to Holly Forest Road due to a sinkhole measuring approximately 10 feet deep.

The road reopened by 2:30 p.m.
According to the town of Wake Forest, the state Department of Transportation filled the hole and will return later to pave the area.
