Storms move through Monday, risk for rain increases Tuesday
The milder weather seen in the Triangle Sunday and early Monday led to rain and thunderstorms Monday afternoon.

Storms began popping up in southern counties before 4 p.m. and brought the threat for frequent lightning, heavy rain and damaging winds.
“I don’t really think they’re going to get farther north than the Triangle this evening,” said WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze.
Maze said although the storms were strong, they are not likely to be severe, but may cause some problems with flooding as they take their time clearing the area.
“Since they’re slow movers, it’s possible we may seem some flood advisories,” he said.
The stronger chance of rain comes Tuesday. The day will start off party cloudy, but the chance to see storms will increase during the afternoon and evening as the temperature rises.
