— Large amounts of debris from a storm two weeks ago and the recent heat have combined to delay solid waste, yard waste and recycling collection across Raleigh, city officials said Wednesday.

The yard waste and garbage routes that weren't completed Tuesday would be finished Wednesday, and Wednesday routes would begin as soon as Tuesday collections were finished, officials said.

That likely will create a domino effect for delayed collections through the end of the week, officials said.

Don't understand! The trucks aren't the same. One is open with a tailgate; the other is enclosed and has a compactor.

Just sounds like an excuse to me. After all, the storm was two whole weeks ago and what's heat got to do with picking up trash???

    God bless.

i don't get it either. It seems like there's seperate trucks - one for garbage, one for yard waste (becuase you can't legally put the two in the same landfill anymore). I understand the yard waste truck delays. But the late regular garbage collection - something smells... fishy?
