FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Crews were cleaning up in Fayetteville following a messy Tuesday morning accident that left gooey sealant on the surface of a roadway.

Authorities said the single-vehicle accident happened shortly after 6 a.m. at the intersection of Bragg Boulevard and Stamper Road, where a dump truck spilled about 300 gallons of sealant used in the construction of parking lots.

Crews were mixing sand into the sealant to help remove the substance from the intersection.

Motorists were asked to avoid the intersection through the morning as traffic was rerouted.

No one was injured in the accident, which remains under investigation.
