DUNN, N.C. — The state wants to execute two suspects in the slaying of a Dunn man if they are convicted.

Nancy Hernandez, 48, Luis Hernandez, 27, and Amanda Russell, 26, all of 6928 Godwin Lake Road in Dunn, are charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and first-degree murder in the death of Bobby Glenn McLamb.

McLamb's landlord found the 72-year-old at about 8:30 a.m. May 28 at his residence at 4316 N.C. Highway 242.

According to search warrants, Luis Hernandez wielded an aluminum bat, fatally hitting McLamb twice in the head.

Prosecutors said Wednesday that they will seek the death penalty against Luis Hernandez and his girlfriend, Russell.
