Gandalla, you don't need to know any of that, and you won't. So get over it.

And troopers do not go to a community college for their training. They have to complete a 29 week course at the Highway Patrol Training Center in Garner. And they have to stay up there and only come home on weekends. And they cannot call home except once a week. So, it is not your local community college BLET course. It is very difficult. A lady I know has a son that should be graduating in a week or so and she commented to me that she never knew what troopers had to go through to be hired and trained until her son was accepted. It is kind of like 29 weeks of military basic training. It is physically and mentally challenging and usually one-half to two-thirds that GET ACCEPTED into the school end up quitting before graduation.

Looks like the bashers are out today!!! Hope the trooper is okay. Glad to see melissa has a radar or the like in her vehicle and can be so accurate as to how fast the trooper was going. It will be reconstructed by the collision reconstruction unit out of Fayetteville and they will determine who was at fault.

During my rant I left out the word to in the sentence that begins with Also, were you trying to ask.....

Good thing they have you on the case Gandalla. I bet none of those questions would have been asked if not for your post on GOLO. Why does it matter WHO the trooper was going after? I would imagine he was pursuing someone he observed breaking a law. As stated above, it is not mandatory to have the lights on. There is a practice called a silent run, where no sirens or lights are used. Also, were you trying ask "where they going at a high rate of speed" or "Were they going at a high rate of speed"? I guess they forgot to teach grammar at your community college.

We need more information here. Who was the trooper going after and why? Did the trooper have his emergency lights on? Where they going at a high rate of speed? What does the troopers driving record look like?

  • gandalla Mar 2, 2010

Wow another officer involved in a crash. What are they teaching these guys at the community college?

mrsmelissa, which end of Jasper was the bus turning from? Correct me if I am wrong but in that area there are 4 traffic lanes and a turning lane?

No one is bashing her. Just presenting some facts to provide a clear story to someone who obviously doesn't know the whole story like she thinks she does. So spare me, please....
