WILMINGTON, N.C. — The North Carolina Republican Party will meet in Wilmington for its annual convention, according to tourism officials there.

The convention is scheduled for June 3-5 in the new, 107,000-square-foot Wilmington Convention Center.

“Wilmington’s historic charm and proximity to the Cape Fear River and the area’s beaches have generated interest throughout the state," said Russell Peck, executive director of the state GOP.
