State Republicans to meet in Wilmington

Posted December 28, 2010

— The North Carolina Republican Party will meet in Wilmington for its annual convention, according to tourism officials there.

The convention is scheduled for June 3-5 in the new, 107,000-square-foot Wilmington Convention Center.

“Wilmington’s historic charm and proximity to the Cape Fear River and the area’s beaches have generated interest throughout the state," said Russell Peck, executive director of the state GOP.

Having attended county, district, and state conventions all expenses incurred on my behalf were 100% paid for from my own pocket. All of the other attendees I communicated with also paid 100% of their own expenses.

Neither I nor the other attendees I know were reimbursed from state or business resources.

    On the agenda:
    "Pretending to be morally superior"
"Being outraged despite being in charge"
"Personal Responsibility: It's all about blaming the democrats"

The convention is not a function of state government. Therefore, cries of anguish, about the state's budget being "destroyed" are not applicable.-jihadforwhat

Yeah I am sure everything will be paid “out of pocket” and nothing will be billed as an “expense.”

The convention is being held by a political party. But because it is the Republican Party many of you blindly scream and holler. Will you have the same sense of outrage when the Democrats announce their state convention?

The convention is not a function of state government. Therefore, cries of anguish, about the state's budget being "destroyed" are not applicable.
