The North Carolina PTA is part of an effort to help schools in Oklahoma that were destroyed or damaged during last month's tornado.

The state group here is collecting both monetary donations and non-perishable, bulk items requested by the Oklahoma PTA.

“They are asking for the very basics, and we are ready and willing to help get these items to them,” said Debra Horton, executive director of the North Carolina PTA, in a press release. “Work gloves, toilet paper, granola bars, clothing, and even suitcases.”

The collection kicked off this weekend and continues until June 17. Donations are accepted at the NCPTA office, 3501 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, during business hours. Checks should be made payable to Oklahoma PTA.

If you have questions about delivering items, contact the NCPTA at office@ncpta.org.
