State House lawmakers plan spring break
House Speaker Tim Moore said Monday night the House will take a week off for spring break in April.

House lawmakers have apparently done just that.
Monday night, at the first real work session after nearly two weeks of weather cancelations, Speaker Tim Moore announced the House will be taking a spring break this year.
Moore said the legislature has on occasion taken a "spring recess" in the past and that both Democrats and Republicans asked him to consider it so they could plan spring break travel with their families.
The week of April 6, Moore said, will be a no-vote week. Local lawmakers will convene to hold skeleton sessions. He urged members not to claim per-diem payments that week.
Just moments before Moore's announcement, on the Senate floor, Rules Committee Chairman Tom Apodaca blasted House lawmakers for having moved little legislation so far this session.
