If you have a little one at home or big kids on track out, here's something to do this week: The State Farmers' Market celebrates the strawberry during Strawberry Day, which is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday.

The event includes free samples of strawberry ice cream; visits with Suzy the Strawberry; a dessert contest; free recipes; and lots of fresh, local strawberries for purchase.

The market is off of Interstate 40 at Exit 297, Lake Wheeler Road in Raleigh.
