RALEIGH, N.C. — Discounted admission and ride tickets for the 2007 North Carolina State Fair go on sale next Tuesday on the fair's Web site, www.ncstatefair.org.

The advance tickets will be available through Oct. 11. The fair runs Oct. 12-21 at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.

Fairgoers buying online tickets with a debit or credit card will save $2 per adult admission ticket and $8 per ride sheet. Advance admission tickets will cost $5 for adults and $1 for children ages 6-12.

Adult admission tickets for groups of 40 or more will cost $4.75 each. A coupon that can be redeemed at the State Fair for a sheet of 24 ride tickets will cost $10 in advance.

Raleigh-based eTix will provide the online ticket service, which allows customers to print their tickets at home. Each ticket will have a bar code to be scanned at the gate. eTix will charge a 5 to 15 percent fee for online purchases, depending on the type of ticket.

Tickets for Dorton Arena and Grandstand shows also will be available online Tuesday. Tickets for top entertainment acts can be purchased only at the State Fair Web site, but tickets will be available at the North Dorton Box Office during the fair for any concerts that don't sell out online beforehand.

Beginning Sep. 27, advance tickets also will be sold at several walk-up locations, including Triangle and Piedmont area malls and the State Farmers Market.
