State Fair Taste Test: Bacon S'more

Sweet, salty and actually pretty good.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Bubba's Bacon booth across from the waterfall at the N.C. State Fair offers every type of bacon creation you can imagine.

There is quarter-pound bacon served on a stick - chocolate covered or just grilled in maple syrup. Bacon popcorn, bacon balls and the bacon s'mores round out the menu.

The bacon s'more intrigued me so I had to try it. Bubba grills a quarter-pound slice of bacon with maple syrup. He then covers it with chocolate, dips it into marshmallow fluff and rolls it in graham cracker crumbles.

The result is a sweet, salty, smoky flavor that actually compliments the bacon nicely. You get the sweet from the s'more flavors and then the smoky and salty bacon kick in.

Definitely worth the money.

This is Bubba's first time as a state fair vendor here and based on how popular his food has been, he will likely be back.
