Posted — UpdatedRALEIGH, N.C. — A worker for a North Carolina State Fair ride company has been arrested and charged with stealing ride tickets and reselling them, according to authorities.
Jorge Augusto Perez-Martinez, 20, was charged with larceny by an employee and obtaining property by false pretenses.
Authorities said an undercover officer discovered the alleged scheme.
Andrea Ashby, a spokeswoman for the State Fair, said the fair makes no money from ride sales and that any alleged embezzlement affects the ride company and not the fair.
