I'm looking forward to the fair! After all of these years I'm still not set on getting one of those Turkey Legs, why are they so huge? So huge you can't find them in the grocery stores yet they are only at the fair, why? Are they injected with something, lol?

I look forward to the State Fair every year cause I work at Santillio's each year to earn a bit of extra money for Christmas. Everyone come on by, we are in the big tent across from the climbing wall.

I look forward to seeing all the habitants from our state that show up walking around. Who needs to pay a dollar to see the worlds largest rat when we can see the residents of NC walking around? :-)

Go for the food and local crafts. Everything else is a rip off.

"I don't know of anyone that can afford the fair this year."

Tickets cost $6 for adults and $2 for kids if purchase by the 14th. That's less that a movie. Most of the activities and shows a free and you're allowed to bring in outside food/drinks (just not alcohol). I'm sure there are some people that can't afford that, but most families can make it work if they really want to.
