RALEIGH, N.C. — A driver in a demolition derby Sunday afternoon at the North Carolina State Fair was injured when his car overturned about an hour into the event.

Donald Stokes, of Goldsboro, was pinned in the vehicle when it became stuck and then flipped shortly before 4 p.m. at the Championship Demolition Derby.

It took emergency crews about 10 minutes to stabilize the No. 10 car and extricate him.

He was taken to a local hospital, but his condition wasn't available Sunday night.
