I wasn't suprised to see this with the state having lower revenue collections due to the economy.

"funny when I saw the headline I knew leo would be here I would think with all the problems in the ranks no one would be too trustfull in anything from leo!"--

Driving like you're in a race car would be an improvement. Racers are alert to what's going on around them. What we got out there now in folks driving like they are in their living room.
It you have ever been road raged on your driving could use improving.

"I know of one who was doing 50mph+ over the speed limit and got it knocked to 10 over just because he went to a 4 hour driving school. You don't need to go to driving school to know that 50mph over the limit is ridiculous."

Yeah that is ridiculous to say the least.

I don't agree with giving the officer part of the fine. If you do, then that creates an opportunity for corruption, or officers charging people on ridiculous offenses.

"I was in Colorado this past week, and they actually have a thing there they called "pace cars" which is essentially CHP who visibly hit the lights and slow lines of traffic down. VERY effective tactic, we might want to pick that one up."--

Where were you? Were you on I70 or I25? From the Eisenhower tunnel from Summit County through Denver just past the foothills they do that. I haven't ever heard of them doing that on a flat highway such as I25. Notice all the runaway ramps while you were there?

I'm always pleased to see the extra enforcement out there on speeders and would like to thank our local law enforcement officers on the good job they do. The Wake County area has some of the worst violators in the state when it comes to speeding and aggressive driving. I've never seen so many people in such a hurry to go nowhere fast. We need a whole lot more law enforcement officers out there dedicated only to working traffic. It would also be good to get the traffic fines increased a lot more. $100 fine for EACH mph over the speed limit is more than fair and 20 mph over the limit or more you should lose your license on the spot for 1 year. Bump the points up on convictions and don't let the court system be able to drop anything. Be good to give each officer 5-10% of the total fine too. Safety is First not driving like your in a race car!
