Several former Robeson County deputies have been convicted on federal charges in Operation Tarnished Badge. After various indictments were issued, Britt spoke publicly about details of the case that hadn't been released and expressed his opinion as to the deputies' guilt, according to the State Bar.

The reprimand carried a $50 fine.

Glowsticks ARENT contraceptives.............."I am from Robeson County originally and I do not believe Johnson Britt should have been reprimanded for anything. I personally witnessed the corruption in the Sheriff's Office."

I too am originally from Robeson County and I agree with you 100%, but the corruption started before Glenn Maynor, it was there when Hubert Stone was in office too......!!!

(continued) investigated my case was one of the top ones arrested for the corruption. I think he was involved in getting my neighbor off on the charges, all while pretending to help my family. The neighbor was upset at me for calling 911 after he was terrorizing our black neighbors by shooting over the tops of their homes. One woman was pregnant and had 5 children and was home alone, because her husband was at work. She was so afraid, she left Robeson County and moved north. The NAACP tried to help us get the woman to testify, but she was too afraid. Hopefully, all of the deputies involved in this long spread of corruption are getting what they deserve, jail time.

I am from Robeson County originally and I do not believe Johnson Britt should have been reprimanded for anything. I personally witnessed the corruption in the Sheriff's Office. I once called them because my drunken neighbor was shooting at me from my brother in laws property line into my front yard and missed me by approx. 10 feet. It was late at night, and I could not see him, but it was his truck and everyone knew this truck just by the sound of it. When the deputies finally arrived, they laughed at my father in law and myself. They never arrested the jerk, even though he was drunk, behind the wheel of his vehicle and with a loaded gun. They were supposed to take his gun, but they did not. I had to press charges myself and his crooked lawyer and the judge let him off. I think there were more involved in the corruption than just the sheriff's dept. The new sheriff is a good man and I am glad he is serving and cleaning up Robeson County. The detective that supposedly

That's a pretty low fine, but then again the NC State Bar Association does not need his money...they have yours. See, when you make a real estate deal and your attorney deposits the money in their trust account, the account is with a bank and the bar association collects the interest earned. Used to be that attorneys could choose to have their account set up as a non-interest bearing account or what's called an IOLTA account, that earns interest that is paid to the state bar assoc. The bar has recently required all trust accounts to be IOLTA accounts, forcing all attorneys to support the bar...or better yet, the banks & customers to support the bar.
