Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes head to grocery stores

Are you a fan of Starbucks’ autumnal favorite, the Pumpkin Spice Latte? If you are reading this, chances are that’s a yes.
Each fall, devotees of the popular drink anxiously await its return to Starbucks locations. First introduced in 2003, it became an instant classic and has been beloved by customers ever since.
While the iconic beverage usually becomes available sometime around the first of September, Starbucks likes to keep its customers guessing, having really thrown us for a loop when they released the drink in August back in 2014.
So far, the company has kept mum on when the PSL will be available in 2017, but those who just can’t wait can get their fix sooner with the rollout of two Starbucks Pumpkin Spice-flavored products available in grocery stores.
The ready-to-drink Starbucks Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte is coming to store late in August and Starbucks Pumpkin Spice-flavored ground coffee is in stores now, according to a Starbucks press release.
The suggested retail price for the Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte is $2.79 for a 14 ounce bottle, while the ground coffee is being sold at $9.99 for an 11-ounce bag.
The company is also offering four more ways to enjoy your favorite fall flavor at home this year, including Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Caffe Latte K-Cup Pods, Starbucks Iced Espresso Classics Pumpkin Spice Latte, Starbucks VIA Instant Pumpkin Spice Latte and Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino Chilled Coffee Drink.

Starbucks says that for many customers, the return of the Pumpkin Spice Latte is synonymous with fall itself.
“It’s a tradition,” Starbucks’ coffee education specialist Mackenzie Karr told Business Insider in 2016. “Similar to football around Thanksgiving, or dressing up for Halloween, it’s something that people have incorporated into their lifestyles. It’s become part of their seasonal routine.”
