Standoff at Raleigh apartment ends peacefully

Posted November 18, 2013

An overnight standoff at an apartment complex in Raleigh ended peacefully Monday morning when a man surrendered.

The incident began about 8 p.m. Sunday night at Regatta at Lake Lynn. A SWAT team was called to the scene for a report of a dangerous man with a weapon. Neighbors said police evacuated at least four apartment buildings while officers dealt with the man.

“I actually saw them when they were coming up, and they were like, ‘You need to leave,’” resident George Walker said. “They evacuated my whole building and the surrounding buildings.”

The unidentified man was taken into custody.

That's funny. I currently live in Regatta at Lake Lynn, and find absolutely nothing scary about it.

Actually the police have not the power to force anyone from their homes. If they were evacuated, it was completely voluntary. No one can force an American to leave their homes at no time for no reason
