Stamp Out Hunger postal service food drive on Saturday!

Stamp Out Hunger May 9, 2015

The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers is Saturday, May 9. This is such an easy way to donate some of your overstock to some folks who could really use the help! I challenge you to donate even just one can of food.

All you need to do is leave a non-perishable food item in or by your mailbox or you can deliver it to your local post office on Saturday, May 9. This is a nationwide food drive, so everyone can participate. Pass this on to all your friends in every state!

Items that are good to donate include canned meats, fish, soup, bottled juice, vegetables, pasta, cereal and rice that do not require refrigeration. They request on the website that you do not include any items in glass bottles or any expired products.

If everyone who reads this blog donates just one item for this food drive, we could help them collect a ton of food! If you can donate 2 or 3 cans or boxes of food, that's even better.

You can see more information on their website.

luvstoQ - I did not get a special bag this year either so I am hanging a plastic grocery bag (double bagged so it doesn't break) from the mailbox.

It's really a nice way to donate - our mailman is usually loaded down each year. I always set a bag by the mailbox - unless it's really raining. Didn't receive a bag this year, just a card, but no matter, will still fill my bag! Hopefully lots of people will participate.
