Spring Lake woman dies in fiery wreck

Posted November 20, 2011

— A 42-year-old woman died in a single-vehicle wreck north of Spring Lake shortly after midnight Saturday, state troopers said.

Christine Alice Geier, of Spring Lake, was going south on Nursery Road when her 2008 Ford Mustang ran off the right side of the road, troopers said. The car struck a fence, then a tree and caught on fire.

Geier was trapped in the burning car, troopers said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers said that Geier had left a party and was heading home.

Speed was a factor in the wreck, and troopers said they were also awaiting the results of toxicology tests.

I can't think of a worse way to die. So sorry for her family!

What a sensitive headline. I hope her family doesn't see it.

I lived along and around Nursery Road for six years. It's definitely not a road you want to be speeding on under conditions. Lot of twists and turns, very little straightaway driving. Many people have died along that road, including police officers. Very sad.

Christine, You have left all of us with a hole in our hearts. You will never know how much we all loved and cared about you. You are at peace now looking down over all of us. I love you my sister !!

She most likely couldn't get out of her seat belt. That seems to be happening a lot lately.
