Spring Lake man wanted for cellphone 'selfies' surrenders

Posted August 20, 2013

— A 20-year-old Spring Lake man wanted for stealing an iPhone and using it to take photos of himself surrendered to Cumberland County authorities Tuesday morning, according to a spokesperson.

Anthony Dubeos Graham, of the 600 block of Chapel Hill Road, is charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods.

According to investigators, Graham took the iPhone and several other items from a Spring Lake home on July 28.

Shortly afterward, Graham began posing for the self-portraits, which were automatically saved to the owner's online storage account.

Graham was released from custody Tuesday morning after posting a $10,000 bond.

So he sold the loot to the pawn shop in the 'selfie', which in turn paid for his bail?

He's got his war face on! Tough guy...bet he's been down this road a couple times. He's probably already on the street planning his next heist.

Where did he get the money for the $10000 bond? Criminals pay so little for their crimes, this guy will probably get a sentence 'suspended', and then probation. just wrong.

Just to set an example, the judge really should give this person 10 years behind bars. Then would be criminals would say, that guy got ten years for stealing a phone! man I would never do anything crazy like that! Of course then they would go out and steal anyway.

Most people have their iPhones set up to dump in the iCloud whenever anything is added to the phone. The pictures were automatically updated to the iCloud.

Another reason this kid isn't the smartest tool in the shed...he had the phone on. All someone needed to do was use the Where's my iPhone? app. GPS would have led them right to the phone.
