Spotty showers, clouds stick around Saturday, Sunday
Temperatures will warm slightly across central and eastern North Carolina over the weekend, but clouds and spotty rain that arrived early in the work week will stay put, said WRAL Meteorologist Mike Maze.
Posted — UpdatedOn Saturday, as the low pressure system works southeastward, warmer temperatures and showers will begin filtering into the central part of the state.
"The weekend won't be a total washout, but there will be drizzle in spots," Maze said. "Don't expect to see the sun."
Highs will reach 70 degrees for the first time in nearly a week Saturday afternoon despite continued cloud cover. The story will be similar on Sunday, as highs top out in the low 70s.
By Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, sunshine will slowly begin to return to the area as highs climb into the mid-70s. Overnight lows will stay in the mid-50s for the next several days.
