Spotty drizzle, showers possible as wet pattern persists
Light rainfall and drizzle was falling across parts of the northern Triangle Thursday morning as a low pressure system continues its slow trek up the East Coast.

Rain chances are likely to linger into Friday and possibly Saturday as a damp, dreary weather pattern holds strong, WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said.
"Northern parts of the Triangle could see more rain and light drizzle today," Gardner said.
The low pressure system was centered off the coast of Cape Hatteras at 11 a.m., and it will slowly drift northward over the next several days. The clouds and rainfall associated with the system arrived in the Triangle late Monday and may linger until early next week.
High temperatures will struggle to reach the low 60s for the third consecutive day Thursday. Daytime highs will rebound into the low 70s Saturday, but mostly cloudy conditions will stay put.
"Saturday will be a bit warmer, but I can't promise we'll see a whole lot of sunshine," Gardner said. "By later in the day Sunday and Monday, we should start to dry out a bit."
